We will mark the sacred SUMMER SOLSTICE at the Oracle of Delphi, Temple to Apollo, as well as in the mystical Corycian Cave, home of the Bee Nymph Oracles. We then travel to Crete -center of the ancient Minoan civilization who were one of the most successful matrilineal and matriarchal cultures in all of human history…

 

The Path of Eros and Honey follows the mythical and physical flight of the honeybee through the priestess lineage of the Melissae (meaning “honeybee” in Greek), as well as the Path of Pollen, one of the world’s most ancient and mysterious shamanistic lineages. 

 

Known as the "bees" of ancient Greece, the Melissae priestesses were gifted alchemists of Eros and were considered divine messengers, conduits of prophecy, and keepers of sacred feminine wisdom. 

 

THE SUMMER SOLSTICE 2025

 

The Summer Solstice is one of the four most powerful days of the year and honors the Light of the SUN. The famous Oracle of Delphi was housed in the Temple of Apollo. Apollo was known as “the most beautiful” god, and personified the golden sun, music, prophesy, and more. 

 

Energy vortices and sacred sites carry immense spiritual significance for our planet. As Priestesses, we are called to specific spots on the Earth at specific times. This not only ignites and awakens our dormant gifts, abilities, and healing within, but also ripples out and affects the Earth and our planet more than we can imagine.

 

Interestingly, the ley line - or energetic grid line - that passes through Delphi is called the Apollo/St. Michael Axis. Archangel Michael’s divine qualities are closely associated with Apollo’s divine attributes.

What is Eros? Eros is the unadulterated life force known as ecstasy or bliss and is our original and most natural state.  When the scaffolding around our wounds and hearts dissolves, the purity of Eros flows freely.

What does it mean to live in a state of Eros? You have felt this before… Perhaps a soulmate or lover has stimulated it, an exquisite work of art, nature that takes your breath away, an achingly beautiful song, honey on your tongue... These moments feel like bliss, like Divinity, and we yearn for more.

In our daily lives, being in the state of Eros can be few and far between. Yet it is our birthright to enjoy this part of the human experience. Awakening Eros is connected to being present with our senses, and “sensuality” is simply a full-on activation of our senses.

Delphi


We start our journey with four days in mystical Delphi atop Mt Parnassus, considered by the ancient Greeks to be the “navel of the world.” Suffused in the rose-gold of a seemingly endless golden hour, Delphi pulses with polarities: Cypress-studded Mt. Parnassus rises like a djed at our backs, while the lush, sweeping Valley of Pleistos beckons like an open hand to the Gulf of Corinth below.

Delphi was a place where pilgrims traveled to hear the word of God. The priestesses who lived here were oracles and bridges between heaven and earth. There was a divine and sacred relationship between the land of Delphi, Mount Parnassus, the spiritual woman who dedicated their life to one of service, and to the aspect of the Divine known as Apollo. APOLLO is an expression of the aspect of God that is pure, golden light, beauty, and music, among others. Sounds very Venusian, doesn’t he?

While in Delphi we’ll enjoy a private guided tour of the temples of Apollo and Athena as well as the Pythia, the Oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world.

On the SUMMER SOLSTICE we’ll caravan through literal
gates of honey (hundreds of hives) to the magical Corycian Cave. This remote is only accessible by a steep, single-lane road, and is where the less affluent (and perhaps counter establishment) sought communion with the Divine through communion with Pan, God of the Wild. The Corycian Cave is also home to the oracular Bee Nymphs, who were said to have taught Apollo (and the Oracle) the sacred arts of divination.

Following our ceremony in the dark womb of the Cave, we’ll return to Delphi for a SUMMER SOLSTICE Sunset Celebration & Ceremony in a lush open-air garden overlooking thousands of ancient olive groves and the mouth of the Ionian Sea.

While in Delphi, we will stay in the
cozy, family-owned Hotel Acropole. Perched on the very edge of town, Hotel Acropole is distinct for its unfettered, breathtaking valley views and easy access to a 4,000 year-old footpath to the sea. You’ll have ample time in the early mornings and afternoons to soak in the sun on your private balcony, rest on your sun-splashed bed, and explore the many shops of local artisans just a short walk away.

Crete

After Delphi, we’ll fly to majestic Crete, Greece’s largest island. Considered the birthplace of Western civilization, Crete was the center of the ancient Minoan civilization, one of the most successful matrilineal and matriarchal cultures in all of human history and the earliest recorded civilization in Europe. The priestesses of Crete, the Melissae, were the sacred beekeepers,protectors of the earth’s sweetest nectar and the embodiment of the sacred feminine.

While on Crete we’ll be treated to a private tour of the labyrinthine ruins of Knossos, where the Minoan society flourished and women, particularly the priestesses, were revered. 

Our Cretian journey would not be complete without rebirthing ourselves in the primordial womb of the Mediterranean. Surrounded by the timeless energy of Crete, we’ll conclude our pilgrimage with a ceremonial
self-baptism in the turquoise-green waters of the Aegean Sea, from which you’ll emerge reborn–wildly alive, connected to the sacred flow of life.

While on Crete we’ll be bathed in luxury at the gorgeous

Bethany Joy

Kirstin Hotelling Zona, PhD is a Certified Master Life Coach, Spiritual Mentor, and Transformational Facilitator. In all of her work, Kirstin draws on her 25 years as a professor and scholar of poetry, during which time she developed a popular signature course on human potential and the art of embodied learning and leadership.

Kirstin also teaches and speaks about women’s sexuality, desire, and pleasure, and is a “demo” model for OMGYes, the widely-known online instructional platform co-hosted with the Kinsey Institute that explores and educates about female sexual pleasure.

Kirstin mentors private clients, runs intimate group programs and mystic trainings, and has hosted over 30 retreats in both the U.S. and abroad.
